Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art celebrates the milestone centennial birthday of Bill Reid (1920-1998) with an exhibition about his life and legacy, To Speak With a Golden Voice, from April 22-October 4, 2020. Guest curated by Gwaai Edenshaw - considered to be Reid's last apprentice - the group exhibition includes rarely seen treasures by Reid from the gallery's core collection and works from artists such as Robert Davidson and Beau Dick. Tracing the iconic Haida artist's lasting influence, two new artworks by contemporary artist and carver Cori Savard (Haida) and singer-songwriter Kinnie Starr (Mohawk) will be created for the anticipated exhibition.

Now in its eleventh season, Hip to Hip will end their 2017 tour with a performance of Henry IV on Saturday, August 19th at 7:30 pm in Southampton.

Now in its eleventh season, Hip to Hip will tour in repertory with William Shakespeare's Henry IV, Part 1: The Prince and the Rebel and Measure for Measure from July 25th to August 20th. The family friendly tour will travel to 12 parks throughout all five boroughs of New York City, Jersey City, and Southampton.

The one-time program of cash awards and promotional activities was created to honour emerging and established Indigenous visual artists, media artists, craftspeople, musicians, writers, storytellers, dancers, and actors who have shown leadership in their home communities and on the world stage. Of the 150 artists selected to receive an award, 11 are from the north, 40 are from BC, 26 are from the prairies, 50 are from Ontario, 18 are from Quebec, and 5 are from the Maritimes.

The Bonstelle Theatre closes its 2014-15 Season at Wayne State's Midtown theatre with the Tony Award-winning Urinetown: The Musical, playing tonight, April 17 - 26. A hit on Broadway and in London's West End, the wickedly smart book and lyrics satirize crony capitalism, while the score parodies popular musicals. Written by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis, it was originally produced on Broadway in September, 2001 by the Araca Group and Dodger Theatricals in association with TheaterDreams, Inc., and Lauren Mitchell.
