Denver Center Attraction Announces Nominees for The Bobby G Awards

(5/10/2013) - Denver Center Attractions announces the 2013 nominees for The Bobby G Awards - the Colorado regional awards program for The National High School Musical Theater Awards. Fifteen public and private high schools in the seven Denver metro counties participated in the inaugural season. (5/9/2013) - Starting today, the Fine Arts Center is delivering a love letter to musical comedy with The Drowsy Chaperone, a show the New York Times praised as 'a revved-up spoof of a 1920s song-and-dance frolic.' At a recent dress rehearsal I was able to sit down with several members of the cast and crew, beginning with Scott RC Levy, director of the Fine Arts Center who is making his Colorado acting debut as Man in Chair, the character guides the audience through the cast recording of the titular Jazz Age musical.

DTC Announces 2013 Project Discovery Distinguished Educator

(5/3/2013) - Dallas Theater Center announced today that Michael Holloman has been named the 2012-2013 Project Discovery Distinguished Educator of the Year. Hollomon is the Director of Theater for R.L. Turner High School and, in his five-year involvement with Project Discovery, has brought 1,100 students to 29 productions at Dallas Theater Center. He is the ninth educator to receive this award.
