Cameron and CFT to go ahead with Barnum?

It seems a U Turn has been made in December and Cameron and Chichester will stage a revival of Barnum this Summer.

It all rested previously on finding a "name" for the title role, so who has been found?

All will be revealed in Feb.

It seems he is keen to revive it this season in hopes of a transfer to The London Palladium where he has always wanted the show to head to, which could happen end of 2013/start of 2014.

Christopher Fitzgerald is playing Barnum. Hes most definitely not 'a name' He was the original Boq on Broadway and was in Finians Rainbow too.

I quite like the idea of the show making someone a star. Very 42nd Street :)

Really intrigued what Cameron Mackintosh and CFT do with Barnum aside from the new book from Mark Brambles. Any ideas who the creative team are?

Fitzgerald is an amazing comedic actor always playing the sideshow/sidekick character, so playing the lead and being center ring in Barnum just seems right!!

They tried him in the lead in Minskey's. Didn't work.

I thought he was fantastic in Finian's Rainbow. Best set of calves I've seen on a supporting actor.

I don't know him, but I'm glad they don't go for the obvious big name. Looking forward to this.
