I've recently completed my first musical comedy (book & lyrics) and am seeking a composer to provide the music. The show's musical styles range from classic Broadway uptempo & ballads to gospel to hardcore rap to Motown.
I have two plays under my belt, both comedies. Both have been produced. One has been published and has received productions across the US and in Canada. Tres international, eh? It also received the Kennedy Center/ACTF Mark Twain Comedy Writing Award. I'm currently based in Chicago, but will be moving to Minneapolis in late May. I'd love to get a head start on this before I move.
If you're a composer with a great sense of humor, fantastic work ethic, strong sense of collaboration and you're a fan of musicals like URINETOWN and shows like SOUTH PARK, this may be the project for you. If you have a website with samples of your work, I'd love to take a listen.
There is no pay . . . unless we make it big. And why wouldn't we?
