Vintage Theatre's THE GRAPES OF WRATH, directed by Lorraine Scott plays now through October 30. This deeply moving epic drama follows the Joad family as they journey from Oklahoma to California during the Great Depression. Their courage, faith, and strength in the face of anguish and adversity are a testament to the enduring human spirit. This classic work is a sweepingly panoramic theatrical event that is as timeless as it is inspiring. THE GRAPES OF WRATH the 1990 Tony award for Best Play.
 
The cast includes Benjamin Cowhick (Tom), Kurt Brighton (Casy), Shane Delavan (Pa), Abby Apple Boes(Ma), Laura Booze (Granma), Joe Wilson (Granpa), Wade Livingston (Uncle John), Heather Taylor (Rose of Sharon), Josh Holcomb (Noah), Michael Bilker (Al), Ellie Schwartz (Ruthie) and Evan Sullivan as Winfield. The cast is rounded out by ensemble members Donovan Arterburn, Linda Swanson Brown, Patrick Brownson, Geri Crawley, Bill Graham, Gene Horne, John Katona, Katie Mangett, Russell Nielsen, Max Schwartz and Jim Wills.  Joining the cast onstage are musicians Marc Bilker (Guitar), Paul Buscarello (Bass) and Conor on Fiddle.
 
Frank Galati won two Tony Awards for his adaptation and direction of Steppenwolf's production of THE GRAPES OF WRATH on Broadway. Although he is known primarily as a director of epic plays and musicals (Steppenwolf's Homebody/Kabul, Broadway's Ragtime) he is an equally adept actor (Steppenwolf's The Drawer Boy) and adaptor (Academy Award nomination for Best Screenplay for The Accidental Tourist.) He is Associate Director at The Goodman Theatre and Professor of Performance Studies at Northwestern University.
 
John Ernst Steinbeck, Jr. was an American writer. He is widely known for the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Grapes of Wrath (1939) and East of Eden (1952) and the novella Of Mice and Men (1937). He was an author of twenty-seven books, including sixteen novels, six non-fiction books and five collections of short stories; Steinbeck received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962.
 
Vintage Theatre presents THE GRAPES OF WRATH currently playing through October 30 at Vintage Theatre, 2119 E. 17th Ave. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m.  For tickets or more information, contact the box office by calling 303-839-1361 or online at www.vintagetheatre.com
