Boulder's square product theatre and LaLaTheater Company present the World Premiere of LOVE SONGS FOR POOMOUSE, a theatrical song cycle (written and performed by Bobby Dartt and created by Bobby Dartt & Elizabeth Baron) plays October 14th through the 29th.
LOVE SONGS FOR POOMOUSE (directed by Elizabeth Baron & Emily K. Harrison and piano by Craig Schwartz) is inspired by love, and is an exploration of the songs we create to express that often inexplicable feeling. These songs, whether they are songs of joy or songs of heartbreak, are at the core of human experience. LOVE SONGS FOR POOMOUSE follows our hero through a journey of self-discovery infused with guitar, piano, percussion, and a variety of other appropriate and possibly inappropriate instruments. Bring your willingness to mate and/or your willing mate and enjoy this original work.
A works-in-progress concert showing of LOVE SONGS FOR POOMOUSE was presented on August 18, 2011, as part of the Boulder International Fringe Festival, where it was awarded a coveted Festival Encore Award.
"Dartt is a showman, and like a true showman, he knows how to treat his audience like kin. Projecting warmth and zany enthusiasm, the limitations of "performer" and "spectator" are seemingly blurred". - Daniel Wheeler, Boulder Fringe Reviews
