Theatre Aspen is thrilled to announce the appointment of educator and director Graham Northrup as the new Director of Education and Outreach. After an extensive search, Mr. Northrup was hired to join the TA staff and will start in the new position beginning January 4, 2009.

Mr. Northrup will oversee the year-round Theatre Aspen School programs, which include a winter Teen Conservatory production and the Theatre Aspen School Summer Camps, which run from June through August, offering various classes to young performers from the ages of 5 - 18.

Northrup received his MFA in Directing from Baylor University, his MS in Instructional Technology at Utah State University and his BA in Theatre Arts Education at Brigham Young University. Recently, he's been a teacher of Theatre Arts at Waco High School, in Waco, Texas. He is also a playwright and an actor who has worked extensively in voice acting.

Northrup replaces long time TA educator Marisa Post, who took the position of Executive Director at the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Aspen. He will work with Emily Zeck, who joined the TA team as Managing Director, Sarah Niblack Boberg, named Director of Development in July and Peggy Burke, Director of Playbill Sales and

Office Manager. Paige Price, Artistic Director said, "We see a real opportunity to welcome new energy and experience into the organization. I feel very good about this team and will be very glad to leave hiring duties behind so we can get down to producing and teaching great theater."

Theatre Aspen School's upcoming musical "13" will be presented January 15 and 16 at the District Theatre at 7 p.m. Directed by David Ledingham and featuring local young actors, the show ran on Broadway last season and is a "grown up pop musical about growing up."

Tickets are available from aspenshowtickets.com or the Wheeler Box office 970-920-5770. For more information, call Theatre Aspen at 970-925-9313.

Theatre Aspen's mission is to entertain, enlighten, enrich, educate and challenge the residents
