DCTC-Single-Tickets-Go-On-Sale-812-20010101

The Denver Center Theatre Company will begin selling single tickets to the upcoming 2012/13 season today, August 12. Tickets may be purchased online at www.denvercenter.org, by phone at 303.893.4100 (TTY 303.893.9582) or at Denver Center Ticket Services in the lobby of the Helen Bonfils Theatre Complex, Mon – Sat from 10am to 6pm.

Denver audiences are sure to be invigorated by this year's lineup: Fences, an August Wilson favorite, Alexandre Dumas' classic The Three Musketeers, the British comedy When We Are Married, Shakespeare's timeless story of love, Romeo & Juliet and the explosive Tony Award nominated hit, Other Desert Cities. Continuing the company's mission to foster new work, three world premieres that were workshopped at the 2012 Colorado New Play Summit will receive full stagings: Lauren Feldman's Grace, or The Art of Climbing, Michael Mitnick's Ed, Downloaded, and the highly-anticipated Sense & Sensibility The Musical. This sparkling new musical brings to Denver an all-star team of Broadway champions, including Director/Choreographer Marcia Milgrom Dodge, whose recent Broadway revival of Ragtime received seven Tony Award nominations, including Best Direction of a Musical and Costume Designer Emilio Sosa, (Project Runway), 2012 Tony nominee for The Gershwin's Porgy & Bess.

Fences
by August Wilson
Sept 14-Oct 14 (Opens Sept 20) | Space Theatre

Troy Maxson, a star baseball player whose career was blunted by the racism prevalent in pre-Jackie Robinson America, now supports his family as a sanitation worker. Feeling his world rapidly changing, Troy builds a fence to protect what is familiar and hold off what threatens. Both muscular and lyrical, this August Wilson blockbuster, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and two Tony Awards, shows what can happen when a strong man is robbed of his dreams.

Loaded with dazzling sword-play, intrigue and comedy, this adaptation of Dumas' novel considers the cost of one hero's journey.
