Boulder's Dinner Theatre presents CINDERELLA Thru 9/1

Several generations have fallen under the spell of Rodgers & Hammerstein's enchanting musical Cinderella. Filled with timeless characters, irresistible romance and the unforgettable songs of  Rodgers & Hammerstein, Boulder's Dinner Theatre's (BDT) summer production of CINDERELLA playing now through September 1st, is sure to leave audiences happily ever after.

Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella was, at the time, the most widely viewed program in television's history. Its recreation in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren was no less successful in transporting a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true, and so was a second remake in 1997, which starred Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother. As adapted for the stage, with great warmth and more than a touch of hilarity, it's no surprise that the hearts of children and adults alike still soar when the slipper fits.

"It's amazing to see the cast light up in rehearsals," explains Michael J. Duran, BDT's artistic director. "The recollection of their own childhood and recognition that they are now passing this along to their children or to the children in the audience is clearly very powerful," he says, "and it's making BDT's Cinderella an awesome production!"

Featuring BDT favorites Shelly Cox-Robie as the Wicked Stepmother, Alicia Dunfee as the Fairy Godmother, and Matthew D. Peters and Bob Hoppe as the "lovely" Stepsisters. Wayne Kennedy and Tracy Warren wear their royal crowns well as King Maximillian and Queen Constantine. Seth Caikowski returns for his second BDT show as the royal herald, Lionel. And two new faces round out the Cinderella cast: Jenna Bainbridge, a veteran actress whose talents have been showcased in several recent PHAMaly Productions, shines as Cinderella; and Matthew Dailey, who performed at BDT when he was a child and most recently was seen in the Arvada Center's Chess, finds his
place on stage as the charming Prince Christopher.

Michael Mulhern has lived in Denver and been active in it's theater scene for over 10 years.
